Leo Cretzmeyer, 96, of Higginsville, died August 17th at the Meyer Care Center.
He was born January 22, 1919 in Dover, to Andrew and Mary (Phillips) Cretzmeyer.
He married Phylisee Riley on December 31, 1951 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville.
Leo was a lifelong farmer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post #223.
He is preceded in death by Phylisee; a daughter, Mary Anne Cretzmeyer; and a brother, Victor Cretzmeyer.
He is survived by:

2 Grandchildren: Brandelyn Bennett (Sam), Brian Barnes (Stacy)
4 Great Grandchildren: Jaxon, Stella, Eleanor, and Georgia
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 20th at 10:30 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Tom Hawkins.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 am at the church and a rosary will be recited at 9:15 am
He will be buried at the St. Mary’s Cemetery with an honor guard provided by the American Legion and US Army Mike Team.
Casket Bearers are Kevin Alumbaugh, Ellis Dieckhoff, Don Simpson, Evan Hoeppner, Mike Cowan, Mike Ryun.
