Jerry Chris Niemeier, 71, of Higginsville, died December 20th at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs.
He was born October 7, 1944 in Higginsville to William and Hazel (Heyer) Niemeier.
He married Wanda Mehrhoff on May 1, 1965 at the Salem United Church of Christ
Jerry worked at the Ford plant in Claycomo for 31 years. He was a member of the UAW Local 249. He served on the Higginsville Auxiliary Reserve Police Force when it was active.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry.
He is survived by:

Daughter: Tina Gibler (Donald) of Higginsville
Brother: Darold Niemeier (Kay) of Lenexa, KS
Mother-in-law: Vida Mehrhoff of Higginsville
Sister-in-law: Bea Gordon (Bob) of Columbia, MO
Brother-in-law: Dennis Schneider of Corder
4 Grandchildren: Marissa McCabe, Ethan McCabe, Michael Niemeier, MIcah Gibler
Visitation will be Monday, December 28th from 5-7 pm at the Salem United Church of Christ.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 29th at 10:30 am at the Salem United Church of Christ, officiated by Dr. Tommy Faris.
Honorary Casket Bearers are grandchildren: Marissa McCabe, Ethan McCabe, Michael Niemeier, Micah Gibler.
Burial will be at the City Cemetery
