David “Keith” Landwehr, 70, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at his home.

He was born September 23, 1945, in Higginsville, to Elmer August and Margaret W. (Wegener) Landwehr. He married Gladys Bredehoeft in 1969.

Keith graduated from Higginsville High School in 1963 and enlisted into the Army National Guard after graduation. Upon his discharge from the military he began farming on the family farm, where he lived his entire life. He held multiple truck driving jobs after retiring from farming, with his most recent being with Schloman Asphalt. He was a Board Member for the Lafayette County C1 School District, and proudly hand delivered his two children their diplomas. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, in Higginsville, Missouri.

Keith had an admiration for cars and trucks particularly Mopars, and loved to drive and travel as fast as he was allowed and sometimes faster. He attended many drag races and tractor pulls, but his main passion was racing his 65 Plymouth in the Victory Performance Nostalgia Super Stock Series with his son. He also enjoyed his Sunday Morning Crop Tours with the Breakfast Crew, which consisted of many of his longtime friends that he held dear to his heart. He had a love for animals but always had a companionship with a wonderful dog, with Pepper being his last companion. Keith was loved by many and he will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his two children, Cara Harris (Eric) of Concordia, and Jon Landwehr (Cheri Hudson) of Higginsville; one sister, Jean Ann (Larry) Opfer of Higginsville; his Uncle Norman and Aunt Ruth Wegener of Phoenix, Arizona, and many special cousins that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Margaret.
