Billy W. “Tumbleweed” Johnson, 62, of Higginsville, died August 26th at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. 

He was born December 10, 1953 in Braymer, MO to Melvin and Mary Frances (Carter) Johnson. 

He married Kim Gray on July 7, 1973 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lexington. 

Billy worked from 1973-1985 at Wilson Foods in Marshall and from 1985-2011 as a Kansas City Star carrier in the Hardin, Henrietta, Richmond area. 
He was a past president of the Jaycees; an avid hunter and fisherman, especially coyote hunting. 

He was preceded in death by his father in 1990.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Johnson home Sunday, September 25th, at 2:00 pm
Bring a side dish and stay for a meal around 4:00 pm
