Rita J. Boedeker, 82, of Higginsville, died Nov. 23rd at Sweet Springs Villa.
She was born September 10, 1934 in Odessa to Ernie and Martha (Quigley) Hill.
She married Kenneth “Bodie” Boedeker on October 27, 1951. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2013.
Rita worked as co-owner of Boedeker’s nursery and she helped her daughter, Rhonda, in her flower shop.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. They maintained a manicured home and yard. Their house was never empty. They loved having friends and family over, especially grandkids. After retiring, she and Kenneth loved to travel, calling themselves “winter Texans”.
She was a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and Salem UCC.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Apprill; brother, Gordon Hill; and 2 grandchildren.

4 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held Sat. Nov. 26th at 10:30 am at Salem United Church of Christ, officiated by Dr. Tommy Faris.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service
Honorary Casket Bearers are Dale Sherman, Kenneth Rinne, Bosh Bruening, Don Cleavland
She will be buried in the City Cemetery
Memorials are suggested to Preferred Hospice or the Salem Memorial Fund
