Barrett "Buzz" Allen Wegener, of Higginsville, Missouri, formerly of Corder, Missouri, passed away Friday evening, October 28, 2016 at his home with family by his side.

He was granted an earthly life of 78 years, 11 months, and 17 days.
It was on November 11, 1937, in Lexington, Missouri, that the Lord blessed the home of Arthur Leonard and Effie Melvina (Dennis) Wegener with the gift of a son.

Barrett attended school in Corder, Missouri. On December 23, 1975, in Miami, Oklahoma, Barrett was united in marriage to Diane Joy Madrid, and to this union they were blessed with one daughter and three sons.
Barrett was an owner/operator for many years hauling flatbed freight for many industries. He was known to be able to haul any item asked of him. He also worked in the concrete industry. He was baptized at the Higginsville Church of Christ.

He enjoyed life and he dearly loved his wife, and children. His favorite time spent was at family reunions and the holidays spent together. He was always behind the wheel of his truck, and he didn’t realize how much he loved to drive and haul until he became ill in 2010 and had to retire from his profession. He enjoyed fishing and visiting the lake as often as he could. He once took aviation lessons and wanted to be a pilot but his eyesight proved against him. He also wanted to join the military as a young man but again, his eyesight wouldn’t allow him to enlist. He held a deep respect and love for our veterans and supported them in any way that he could. He loved trains, especially the old steam engines, and he loved his two Dachshunds, Scooter and Skeeter.
