Scott Daniel Riles IV, “Dan”, age 50, passed from this life on Saturday, July 7 in Independence Missouri. He has lived in the Kansas City and Higginsville area his entire life.
Dan was born on June 12, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri to Scott Daniel Riles, III and Eleanor Sue (Stober) Riles.
After a serious illness at six months old, Dan was unable to communicate verbally, but he was never at a loss to show love and affection to those around him. He spent much of his time in the outdoors, enjoying the sunshine. His antics and unexpected actions never ceased to provide levity to those around him.
He was preceded in death by all grandparents, Leslie Victor and Ella Marie Stober, and Ira Mike and Eva Marie Riles; a step-father, Donald Hansen; and a sister, Eva Joann Riles.

He is survived by:

Mother: Sue Hansen of Kansas City, MO
Brother: Richard Riles of Kansas City, MO
Sister: Joy Flanders (John) of Fayette, MO
Long-time roommate: Eric Mitchell
He also leaves several nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephew.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 14th at 3 pm, at the Raglan Auditorium on the Higginsville Habilitation Center campus
