Pat (Boles) Gilkey-Pence, 84, of Higginsville, died September 10, 2018 at the Meyer Care Center
She was born March 22, 1934 in Mayview to Cecil and Ruby (Stuedle) Boles. She was an only child.
She graduated from Mayview High School. She married Don Pence on August 31, 1968. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1998.
Pat worked many places around town, John Ziekle Insurance, Charley Green Attorney, Higginsville Advance, Chameleon Dry Cleaners, Cable TV office. She was the executive secretary at Missouri Valley Human Resources. She owned and operated Pence Market in Mayview for several years. She retired from the WalMart Pharmacy.
She was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading books, going to the casino, playing bingo, crocheting. She made baby afghans and bags for walkers and donated many of them to Lafayette Regional Hospital.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Cecil Gilkey.

Steve Pence (Sherry) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Daughter-in-law: Terri Gilkey of Higginsville

Memorial Services will be held Monday, September 17th at 10:00 am at the Salem United Church of Christ, officiated by Pastor, Dr. Tommy Faris
