Marcus Martin Noltensmeyer, 94, formerly of Corder, died July 11, 2020 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.
He was born April 25, 1926 in Pershing, MO to August "Martin" and Stella (Brinkman) Noltensmeyer.
Marcus
joined the US Army, taking a river boat to from Hannibal to St. Louis,
and then a train to boot camp in Ft. Hood, TX. He served during World
War II as a diesel tank mechanic, in the Philippines and in Hiroshima.
He
married Mary Lampman on August 15, 1953 at her parents’ home in Leeton,
MO. They lived on their dairy farm, outside of Corder, until 2006.
Marcus did some work as a welder, and also worked in maintenance at the
Higginsville Habilitation Center. He was a member of the Corder VFW
Post 4288. He enjoyed fishing and setting trot lines on the Gasconade
River, and talking on the CB radio. His handle was Peter Rabbit.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; 3 grandchildren, Caleb Patenaude, David Martin Noltensmeyer, Tommy Doss III; one great grandchild, Gabriel Pranger; son-in-law, Ed Rose; brother-in-law, Myra Jett.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 11:30 am at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville, officiated by Pastor Ralph Varner of the Corder United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
He will be buried at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
Memorials are suggested to the Corder VFW Post 4288 or the Corder United Methodist Church.
The use of masks is requested by the family.
Social distancing will be encouraged during the visitation.
