Virginia Marth, 91, of rural Higginsville, died December 26th at her home.
She was born December 23, 1926 in Sugar Creek, MO to Earl and Linnie (Thompson) Rockey.
She married Johnny Marth on September 6, 1963 in Independence, MO. They lived there until 1978, and then in Sugar Creek until 1985 when they moved to Higginsville.
Virginia was a homemaker and was very involved in many church, civic and humanitarian organizations.
She sang in the choir at Westminster Presbyterian while they lived in Independence and at Salem UCC while they lived in Higginsville.
She volunteered and worked in the American Legion Auxiliary and UAW Retirement Assn. She was an active member of the General Federated Women’s Club, the Mildred Dunn Study Club, the New Era Study Club, Mary Martha Circle and many other clubs.
She actively supported Native American groups and other social concern groups.
She and John squared danced, for almost 30 years, with the Roadrunners and the Spinning Wheels.
She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and traveling, often traveling alone when no one else was able to accompany her. She made trips to Mexico; Zambia, Africa; Europe; Machu Picchu, Peru, just to name a few.
She is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Willis; and a sister, Hazel Youngs.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 1st from 5-7 pm at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 2nd at 10:30 am at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Isaiah Muita
She will be buried at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery
Casket Bearers will be Michael Minks, Franky Minks, Brian Knapp, Bart Wyatt, Greg Berry and Boone Berry
