Roy William Manning, Jr., 72, of Corder, died July 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs.
He was born June 11, 1949 in Warrensburg, MO to Roy and Nora Belle (Rivers) Manning, Sr. They both died when he was young and he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Wilburn “Webb” and Jean Manning They also preceded him in death.
He attended Corder schools, until they closed, and graduated from Higginsville High School. Roy served 2 years in the Army. He has lived in the Corder area most of his life.
Roy worked at Armco Steel until they closed. He went to work at Lake City Ammunition until his retirement.
He loved hunting, fishing, reading and old western movies. In his younger days he ran fox hounds and was quite an accomplished trap shooter, earning many trophies.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 24th at 10:30 am at the Corder Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Gary VanLanker.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
Casket Bearers will be Jason Manning, Aidan Manning, Jeremy Manning, Kevin Manning, Nathan Manning, Matt Marsh.
Honorary Bearers will be Jimmy Higgins and Jerry Terrell.
He will be buried at the Calvary Cemetery at Corder with military honors.
