Robert “Bob” Mahoney, 61, of Alma, died December 30th at University Hospital in Columbia.
He was born August 16, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Doris (Ducett) Mahoney
He married Debbie Martin on December 10, 1988 in Gwinn, MI.
Bob grew up in Yorkville, IL and graduated from high school there. He joined the Air Force and served for 22 years, retiring as a TSGT. The first two years he spent in Germany, then 16 years at the K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan followed by two years in Grand Forks, ND. He transferred to Whiteman Air Force Base in 1998, moving to Alma. Since retiring from the Air Force in 2002, he has worked at Fitzgibbon Hospital, most currently as the outpatient clinic manager.
Bob served as the mayor of Alma for 11 years.
He was a life member of the American Legion, and a former member of the Alma Lions Club.
He is preceded in death by his father; and sister, Mary Rosenwinkel

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6th at the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home from 6-8 pm
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 7th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville at 10:00 am, officiated by Fr. Tom Hawkins, pastor.
Casket bearers will be Nick Boehmer, Justin Boehmer, Chris Bargfrede, Dalton Bargfrede, Chad Meyer, Greg Smith
He will be buried in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery with a military honor guard.
