Betty Jean Lovercamp, 73, of Alma, died Oct. 4, 2018, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma with the Rev. Michael Gallagher officiating.
Interment followed at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour before service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Lafayette County Cancer Society.
Born Oct. 30, 1944, in Marshall to Evey Hackler and Oma Ethel (Watson) Hackler, Betty graduated from Blackburn High School. She married Paul W. Lovercamp at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 29, 1963. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2000.
In addition to raising two sons, Betty worked as a waitress at various restaurants in the area including Hardee's.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching movies and was a big fan of Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed collecting ceramic cats of any sort. She loved to bake cakes, baking as many as six at a time for her husband so he could enjoy them throughout the week.
She is survived by two sons, Gary (Heidi) Lovercamp of Pearland, Tex., and Larry (Cheryl) Lovercamp of Clever; one brother-in-law, Randall (Sheri) Lovercamp of Alma; five grandchildren, Chelsea (Tim) Sheridan, Reece (Ashley) Lovercamp, Riley, Hunter and Mason Lovercamp; two nephews, Ryan (Jen) Lovercamp and Matt Lovercamp; and three special nieces, Sheila Lemler, Janice Ritchie, and Alison Stollenmaier.
In addition to her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul; and one sister, Maxine.
