Blanche L. Knipmeyer, 102, of Higginsville, died June 18, 2021 at the Meyer Care Center.

She was born April 3, 1919 in Alma, Missouri, to Alvin and Ethel (Liese) Knipmeyer.

Blanche graduated from MU with a bachelor’s degree in business. She also earned a teaching certificate. But she found her true calling in nursing. She became an RN. She worked for 13 years at the Blosser Children’s Home in Marshall, and many more years at the Habilitation Center in Higginsville.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the United Methodist Women Group. She belonged to the Civic Club of Higginsville, Business and Professional Women’s Club, and enjoyed quilting at church and at John Knox Village East.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alvin, Jr.; sisters, Oretta Ness and Myrtle Tempel.

She is survived by 6 nieces, many great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be from Tuesday, June 22nd from 1:00-1:45 pm at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home

Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 pm at the Calvary Cemetery at Corder.
