Elizabeth “Susie” Kness, 97, of Springfield, MO, died May 19th at her home.
She was born May 17, 1922 in rural Higginsville to Robert and Nannie (Smith) Gray.
She attended Douthit School and graduated from Higginsville High School. She received nurses training in Kansas City and earned her BSN. While there she met Alfred David Kness. They were married April 1, 1953. They moved to Crocker, MO, where they lived for many years, and where she worked as a school nurse. Several years after A.D.’s death, Susie moved to Springfield.
She was an active church member and enjoyed travelling. She went on bus trips and even went overseas.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a brother Jack Gray; an infant brother, George, and an infant sister, Dorothy.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21st from 7-8 pm at Kaiser ~Wiegers Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 22nd at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Higginsville, officiated by Rev. Liz Lindsay and Rev. Bill Knudsen
Casket Bearers are Gerald Gray, Scott Romans, Caleb Romans, Shawn Fisher, Jeff Barker, Ed Shobe.
She will be buried in the City Cemetery
