Christy Jones, 39, of Higginsville, died August 16, 2020 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House.
She was born April 19, 1981 in Jefferson City, MO. She moved to Higginsville as a small child and has lived here ever since. She graduated from Lafayette County C-1, and earned her bachelor’s in Education from the University of Phoenix. She married Chris Jones on October 25, 2008 at the Salem United Church of Christ.
Christy was a paraprofessional at Grandview Elementary School. She was very active in Scouting, helping in many capacities, including, but not limited to Treasurer, Rank Advancement, Camp preparation, popcorn sales coordinator (which earned her the nickname The Kernel). She was the former after school director at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She loved collecting Mickey (not Minnie) Mouse and Coca-Cola memorabilia. But more important than all of that, she loved her sons.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 21st from 6:00-8:00 pm at Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Betty Thaller.
Casket Bearers will be Randy Florence, Derrick Morgan, Mike Ryun, Shawn LaRue, Daniel Zeller, Keith Waggoner.
Memorials are suggested to Kyleigh Ellington’s service dog project, payable to Krystal Ellington.
