Iola Ruth Jackson, 98, of Higginsville, died October 25th at the Western Missouri Medical Center
She was born October 1, 1920 in Higginsville to William and Mary (Tempel) Brandt.
She married Neil Jackson on November 11, 1939 in Lexington. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2001.
Iola didn’t work outside of the home, but she did ironing for many people around town and was very active in the First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
At church she served as a Sunday school teacher, Treasurer and in many other capacities.
At the lodge, she was the oldest living member of in the state of Missouri and also held the honor of having the longest tenure of any member.
In addition to Neil, she is preceded in death by brother, Jack Brandt; and 2 great grandchildren.

Daughter: Vicki Thompson (Bob) of Higginsville
Grandchildren: Robin Howe, Deborah Coggin,
Robert Thompson, Stephanie Thompson

Funeral services will be held Wed., October 31st at First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, officiated by Dr. Greg Fine.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral
Casket bearers will be Kiger Willis, Phillip Coggin, Tony Howe, Shane Thompson, Nathaniel Smith, Robert Thompson.
She will be buried at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery
