Janet K. Eichenberger, 72, of Higginsville, formerly of Hannibal, died July 24, 2020 at home.
She was born January 20, 1948 in rural Texas County, MO to Estell and Louise (Alderson) Stark.
She married Carl Rucker, Jr. in 1962. They had 3 daughters. They later divorced and he precedes her in death.
While living in Hannibal, she met Dean Eichenberger. They married on February 14, 1979. Janet went back to school, earned her GED and became a registered respiratory therapist. She accepted a position as a travelling therapist. The job took them to Illinois, Maine, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and around Missouri. They settled back in Hannibal and she worked at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Hospital in Columbia, MO until her retirement.
Janet loved quilting and was great cook. She believed in making three meals a day. She and Dean were active in the Elk’s Lodge and American Legion in Hannibal, attending dances and other social events.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Bentley; brothers, Doyle, Darrell, and Robert Stark.

Private graveside services will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery
