Delores Dodson, 85, of Higginsville, died September 7, 2021, at the Meyer Care Center.
She was born May 18, 1936, in Higginsville, to Roy and Eula Mae (Newland) Covey.
She graduated from Higginsville High School in 1954. She worked at the University of Missouri Extension office for several years, until just before she married Devere Dodson, on August 7, 1965, at Grace United Methodist Church. They lived in Liberty for a very short time before settling in Higginsville. After many years as a homemaker, she went back to secretarial work, working over 10 years each at John Knox Village East and Lafayette County Board of Sheltered Services.
Delores was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved family gatherings of any kind, and playing cards with family and her circle of girlfriends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Devere; a daughter, Denise; and two sisters, Margie Meinershagen and Maxine Steffens.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 10th at the Grace United Methodist Church at 11:00 am., officiated by Rev. Terry Cook.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
She will be buried in the City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Meals on Wheels at the Higginsville Senior Center.
