Sandra Jo DeHaven, 81, of Mayview, Missouri, died May 29th at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO

She was born July 25, 1937 in Doniphan, Missouri to AB and Ethel (Swindler) Crim.

She married James DeHaven on June 6, 1958 in Columbia, MO. They moved to Higginsville in December of 1977. They owned and operated DeHaven’s Restaurant and the Dairy Queen. Sandra also worked as a manager at the Sheltered Workshop and for a time, had a day care in her home. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as an organist and children’s choir director. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts and music.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Sutherland.

   6 Grandchildren   1 Great Grandchild 

Memorial Services will be held Monday, June 3rd, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Higginsville, officiated by Dr. Greg Fine.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

She will be buried in the Brand Cemetery 

Honorary Bearers will be the grandchildren, Nikolai DeHaven, Natasha DeHaven, Nikita Riley, Jennifer Larimore, Jonathan DeHaven, Christopher DeHaven
