Sandra Faye Burriss, 75, formerly of Wellington and Higginsville, died June 23rd at the Liberty Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1943 in Des Moines, IA, to Earl and Ruth (Richardson) Lynd.
She was raised in Independence and lived there for 20 more years as an adult. She also lived in Wellington for 23 years, and Higginsville for 11 years.
She married Ralph Burriss in March of 1977.
She was the head soloist at the Wellington United Methodist Church for 25 years and a member of the Lexington Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years, and a past Associate Conductor.
Sandra worked at Walmart for 15 years and at the Higginsville Habilitation Center for 18 years.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lynd and her parents.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 3rd, at the 10:30 am at the Grace United Methodist Church in Higginsville, officiated by Pastor Terry Cook.
Her son, Troy will be an honorary casket bearer.
She will be buried in the Greenton Cemetery in Odessa.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Greenton Cemetery.
