Ann Buhlig, 85, of Alma, formerly of Higginsville, died May 6, 2020 at her home.
She was born June 20, 1934 in Higginsville to William and Addie Belle (Jenkins) Marcks.
She grew up in Higginsville and attended Salem United Church of Christ. After high school, she enrolled at CMSU where she earned a degree in business education. After her marriage to R. Curtis Buhlig they moved to Alma, where she lived the rest of her life.
Ann was a homemaker when their children were little. As they got older she started teaching business classes at Santa Fe. She also worked as a secretary in the principal’s office. She got back into teaching at St. Paul high school and college in Concordia. After the college closed she went to work at Allied Signal, for over 10 years. Then she started a position with the Missouri Division of Employment Security, until she retired.
Ann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the flower club. She was an avid gardner and canner. She loved tending flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Donald Marcks.

Private graveside services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Alma.

A prayer Ann wrote that she would like everyone to know is, "We are children of God, full of the power of Christ's Holy Spirit and that power within us is greater than all the power of the world"
A public celebration of Ann's life will be held at a later time.
