Robert H. Brueggenjohann, 89, of Higginsville, died December 15th at the Meyer Care Center
He was born May 23, 1929 in Mayview to Ben and Helen (Walker) Brueggenjohann.
He married Mary Ruffner on April 20, 1952 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Bob was a Marine. He served two tours in Vietnam. He continued his military service for 26 years total, retiring as a Sergeant Major.
They lived many places over that time; New York, North Carolina, California and Virginia to name a few. They moved back to Higginsville following his retirement in 1977. Bob started working for the Street Department and stayed on for 15 years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 223 and Zion United Church of Christ in Mayview.
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son and daughter, Robert Keith and Dawn Marie; his sister, Bette Robertson.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 19th at 11:00 am, at the Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Gilbert Walker and Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral
He will be buried with military honors at the City Cemetery. A Marine honor guard will serve as his casket bearers, and American Legion Post 223 will provide Taps and a rifle volley salute.
