Robert Bell, 85, of Higginsville, died June 28th at the New Haven Nursing Home in Odessa.
Bob was born January 2, 1932 in rural Higginsville to Leonard and Olivia (Apprill) Bell.
He married Dorothy Covey on September 28, 1957 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs.
Bob was a proud, dedicated, active farmer. He was involved in, and supported, many aspects of Lafayette County agriculture. Over the years he was a delegate for MFA Oil and MFA Exchange; a member of the Soybean Assn, Corn Growers Assn, Pork Producers Assn; on the Ike Skelton advisory committee; as well as many other agricultural associations. He and Dorothy received the Farm Management Award from the Lafayette County Extension. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served on the Cemetery Committee and sang in the choir. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Bell.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place Friday, June 30th at 5:30 pm, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville;
Visitation will follow from 6-8 pm
Mass of Christian Burial will be Sat. July 1st at 10:30 am, at the church, officiated by Fr. Tom Hawkins.
Casket Bearers will be JJ Green, Jake Burns, Josh Green, Mason Bell, Chuck Bell, Corbin Bell.
Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery
