Martin “Marty” Begemann, 84, of Higginsville, died April 24th at his home.
He was born April 22, 1933 in Mayview, to August and Emma (Fiegenbaum) Begemann.
In high school Marty was the time keeper for basketball games and played the E flat tuba.
He served in the US Army, in Korea, from 1953-1955.
Marty married Bessie Goring June 22, 1968 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Mayview. They moved to Higginsville that year. He farmed for 30 years, then worked heavy construction for Chapman and Wegener until he retired in 1983.
He is a former member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27th at 9:00 am at Salem United Church of Christ
Funeral Services will follow at 10:30 am, officiated by Dr. Tommy Faris and Rev Kathy Knehans.
Casket Bearers are Larry Knehans, Allen Knehans, Donald Knehans, Paul Goring, Ian Begemann, Jacob Begemann, Paul Werning, Andrew Werning.
He will be buried in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, with an honor guard provided by the American Legion Post #223
